This handy script detects whether the browser has a Java plugin enabled and redirects accordingly. It works with will main browser manufacturers and has been tested in Opera 9, Netscape Navigator 8.1, Mozilla Firefox 1.5.0.4 and Internet Explorer 6 SP2. It is particularly useful if you intend to run a Java applet as it can redirect non Java users to an alternate page, so they are not staring at a blank page.

Well this is sort of the other way around, I adapted a table sorting javascript and added in row coloring. After that, I got some emails asking if I had a script that did just the row coloring. That wasn't that hard anymore, so here it is. An inobtrusive alternating row class script. It simply gives your table rows CSS classes odd and even.

This script checks to see if the user is comming from the right url(s). If the user visits the page from the wrong url(s), an alert will popup, then it will try to close the window (if it is a popup, it will automaticly close, if it is a regular window, a promt will come up asking if the user wants to close the window or not), then, if the window is not closed, it will make the window go back a page.
