An easy to configure PHP chatbox solution for websites that require an easy to use, secure chat facility. Stores all chat information in a text file so doesn't require a SQL server. Includes an administration interface to ban users, message character limit and smilies, html is blocked except for italic and bold tags, this stops malicious users from adding javascript and other annoying code. Future release will have flood protection and other features. A SQL version may also be released.

This PHP chat script is 100% PHP that outputs 100% valid html and stores all information in flat files, that means no fiddly databases to configure, all that means no dodgy software for your visitors to install on their machines. This is also useful for a instant messaging sort of system where users may not be allowed to use services such as MSN web messenger on public machines.

Chatoo is a chat based on PHP. It works without any database and give no impression of refresh ! I use an old technic forgotten by programmers who allow to make a push in javascript allowing a reload without any refresh. It's the first time you will see this kind of chat in php.
